At Bethany, We exist to GLORIFY GOD by

BECOMING His Disciples

BUILDING His Kingdom

If you're thinking about visiting with us, here are some things you might want to know.

Our Bible Study classes meet all over the church campus, but most classes meet in the building that used to be our worship center.  This is the building with a smaller steeple next to our church sign.  There are plenty of kind people willing to help you find the right place to plug in. We have a class for preschoolers, adolescents, teenagers, & adults.  Some of our classes are gender specific and others for men and women together.  We hope you'll join us.

We meet in the worship center, which is the largest building on campus.  We worship through singing, giving, and preaching God's word.  Our worship pastor invites the congregation to worship God through song with him.  We sing hymns & modern songs.  There is no dress code at Bethany.  You'll find people dressed casual, formal, & somewhere in between, but we are more concerned with who you are than how you dress.

We have childcare for newborns to 3 year olds all morning.  Parents can check their infants & toddlers into our nursery before Bible Study and/or the Worship Service.  We have children's church for kids in k4-k5, but they stay in the worship service while we sing. Then they're dismissed with the children's church leaders.  We believe it's vital for kids to see adults worshipping Christ together, so 1st graders and up stay in the worship service.

Meal, Prayer Meeting, & Choir

On Wednesday's we meet in the Fellowship Center at 5:45 for dinner.  At 6:30 we have ministries for children, students, & adults.

For adults we have a prayer gathering in the Worship Center while the choir meets to pray & practice.

Children's Activities

From 6:30 - 7:30 we have childcare for babies & toddlers, & fun Bible lessons for kids k4 - 5th grade.  The kids start in a large group upstairs in our old sanctuary for songs & bible lesson.  Then we have classes based on age & gender.

Student Worship

At 6:30 our students have worship where they are led in singing by a band of fellow students.  The student worship services are focused on discipling teenagers.  Our students have a good time while studying the word of God on a consistent basis.

Nathan and his wife Jessica joined our ministry team in April of 2017.  Nathan is our Lead Pastor at Bethany.  He is originally from Pleasant Grove, AL.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Samford University and an M.Div. from Beeson Divinity School.  He & Jessica have three children, Micah, Luke, & Lily Grace.

Jason and his wife Candice joined our ministry team in January of 2012.  Jason is our Pastor of Worship & Outreach.  He is originally from River Falls, AL.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Troy University and a Master's of Christian Ministry from Liberty University.  He & Candice have three children, Layla, John David, & Luke.

Bethany Baptist Church has a profound and powerful history.  God has preserved this loving family of believers for over 160 years of faithful ministry.  Even though we are 160+ years old, God's Spirit is still alive and well at Bethany.  Our church family is comprised of people from many backgrounds.  We are still a growing church, made up of multiple generations. We are a group of people living out the truth of God’s Word by loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and loving others the way we love ourselves. Even though our church campus has gone through many transformations and building projects, we believe that WE are the church, and we exist to glorify God by Believeing, Becoming, and Building.

We believe that Jesus extends grace to everyone and that we should follow in his steps. We strive to extend grace to everyone, because we have been given much grace. It is our goal to speak the truth in love, by not condemning people, but by calling them into the new life given by Christ.

We believe that Jesus is central to everything. We believe that prayer is a direct line to God, and that we should speak to Him every chance we get. Worship is our chance to praise God and we take joy in doing so.

We are called to join in fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We believe that reaching out to the lost and engaging with them will strengthen our bond with each other through God.

Jesus called us to go out and spread the word of God. We believe that this is not done enough. We make it a priority to go outside of the church walls to reach the lost and broken. We hope that you will join us in doing so.
